What equipment does the school need?

Lyfta does not require any specialist equipment. The platform can be accessed through an internet-enabled desktop, laptop, Chromebook or IPad.

How do I get started?

We offer free training to schools to help them get started, and simple 20 minute 'Lyfta Time' sessions as an easy way to begin embedding Lyfta's powerful stories into your teaching. Running a lesson is as simple as opening the platform, finding the lesson and clicking the launch button.

Is there much training needed to use Lyfta?

No. After a simple 20 minute training session you’ll be able to begin using Lyfta. There are other training sessions we offer to help you use the platform more effectively but these are optional.

Is there any funding available?

We have identified a number of grants and funds that can be utilised to fund Lyfta (including the PE and Sport premium). Find out more here.

Does it matter what country I’m in?

No. As long as you are on an internet enabled computer, tablet or phone, you can access Lyfta.

Does Lyfta work offline?

You will need to be on an internet-enabled computer, tablet or phone to access Lyfta. You can however download some of the teaching materials to use offline.

Is Lyfta fully accessible for all children?

Yes, each child can access and experience a Lyfta lesson, no matter their ability, and everyone will take away something different from the experience. Our subtitled video content is brilliant for learners who have reading and literacy challenges. Lyfta enables children to have fun whilst being introduced to complex themes and helps develop a wide range of life skills such as resilience, understanding and empathy.

What kind of lessons can I use Lyfta for?

The content and resources are ideal for teaching a range of subjects including literacy, PSHE, RSE, geography, citizenship, PE, science, RE, design & technology and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Do all the children in the class need laptops or tablets to run a Lyfta lesson?

Not at all. Lyfta lessons can be taught from a screen at the front of the class and in an assembly. Our Lyfta Lite plan is aimed at those wishing to teach from the front of the class only. If you'd like individual student logins then choose our premium plan.

Can children use Lyfta from home as well as at school?

Students can access their lessons from school or home using a laptop, PC or Ipad and a simple passphrase generated by the teacher.

I’m a parent. Can I sign up to Lyfta?

Unfortunately not at the moment. But we are hoping to launch Lyfta for parents very soon.

I’m a child/student. Can I sign up to Lyfta?

You cannot register yourself but if your class teacher is subscribing to our Lyfta premium package then all children in the class will be given access for remote learning.
